Harris Family Cabin Trip

This was such a fun cabin trip over the 4th of July weekend. It was Harris reunion #1 for my parents before they leave for Trinidad. Reunion #2 is at Bear Lake in August, when mom and dad will already be gone. So this trip felt extra special to spend quality time with my parents before they leave. Anne and Mitch were able to join us from out of state too, so my parents were thrilled that everyone was able to be there!

Ruth Lake

We went on a fun hike to Ruth Lake. It was a beautiful and adventurous hike. Everyone enjoyed it, young and old! The lake is gorgeous and well worth the hike in.

Campfire

Haden and Andrew perfected marshmallow toasting over the fire. Stratton and Evie's were nice and burnt, but they did it themselves and they were so proud!

June 20, 2010

June 20th was a big day this year. Not only was it my 38th birthday, but it was also Father's Day and my parents' mission farewell. So I got to spend the day with family which is the best way to spend a birthday! When I got home there was an anonymous surprise for me at my doorstep. I found out later, it was the Watts that left the surprise poster and cookies.... How thoughtful, it really made my day!

The "Widow Maker"

Day 2 of Youth Conference at Raging Waters.
See the slide on the right hand side? See how high it is?? Well, you can't exactly tell from the picture how steep and high it is, but take it from me, we didn't nickname it the "Widow Maker" for no reason. The first hill is a complete drop off. Us three fearless YW leaders, (not fearless at first), took the plunge down this slide. Amber was the first brave soul, but it took Ashlee and myself almost the whole day to muster up enough courage to go down. At the beginning of the day there was no way I was going down that slide. But as I watched everyone go down the slide one by one and live to tell about it... I figured it was my turn to try. I was practically hyper ventilating at the top, but I just closed my eyes and went down. It felt good to overcome my fear, but I definitely wasn't begging to go again. I am proud of our threesome, bring it on!!

Youth Conference

Youth Conference was held June 18, 19th. It was a great success! We went down to the Manti pageant. We started out with a morning devotional and breakfast at the church. We had the most wonderful speaker come, she had a very inspiring message. We then left for Manti. On the way down we stopped at a park in American Fork to eat lunch and play a fun game of kick ball. Once we got to Emphraim we set up camp and headed into town for dinner and mingling. We saw lots of friends from different wards there. The pageant was great as always. We slept as good as could be expected and then headed out the next morning after breakfast to Raging Waters. We had a fantastic time. We have such a good group of youth. They all get along so well and best of all, I got to be there with Haden, and that was a real treat for me!

Wheeler Farm

We spent a nice June day at Wheeler farm. At the end of our journey through the farm we came across this cool tree house. After being in the hot sun, it was so nice to relax under the shady tree. The kids loved climbing and exploring the tree and tree house. It was a great end to a great day!

Farm Fun

We went to Wheeler farm with Becca and Avery. Ashlyn and Austin joined us for the first little bit. Stratton and Evie thought it was so much fun to see the sights and (smells) of a farm. It is such a cool place!

Lagoon 2010

We enjoyed our Lagoon season passes again this year. Evie has grown so much from last year. She was so much braver than last year and just loved all of the kiddy rides. Stratton is still our little dare devil, riding all of the "big" rides. He always managed to ride some of the kiddy rides with his little sister too. What a good big brother! I earned our season passes this year while working for Lagoon during "School days". It was 10 days of work over 4 weeks time. It was a long 10 days because the booth I worked in "Hawaiian Ice" was very slow. But all in all it was worth it, and so nice to get 5 season passes for my family, I only had to buy one. I was given the opportunity to work there this year because my parents had to back out when they got their mission call, so I took their place. It was a fun Lagoon summer!

Golf

Stratton had his first golf lessons at the beginning of the summer with his friends Cade and Landon. I think he liked it okay, it was a good introduction to golf. They played a challenge game each day, he passed the challenge a couple of times which meant he got to pick out a treat from the club house, of course he liked that part the best!

Car Accident

On our way to Gateway to have dinner and see the movie "Eclipse" me and my girlfriends were involved in a terrible car accident. Luckily no one was seriously hurt, just some some pretty major whiplash. We were hit from behind, which pushed us into the car ahead. It was a hard hit, deployed the airbags and everything. There were six of us in the car and Amy's newborn baby. It was so scary! We feel so blessed, because it could have been much worse. Jenny's car had to be towed. Jamie's husband Scott came to pick us up and took us to our movie. It was a little surreal sitting at the movie right after such a traumatic experience. We still had a good time at the movie and all of us called the chiropractor in the morning for some therapy...crazy!!

Endless Creativity

Stratton is such a creative boy! His mind goes a hundred miles an hour coming up with his next project. He made this cute robot out of Tinkertoys!
