Kindergarten Memories

At the end of the year, I asked Stratton to tell me all about Kindergarten. Here it is, in his own words.... "We played soccer at recess a lot and our team always won. Spanish was fun! I didn't like how I got nail polish on my pants when we painted the letter "N". I liked the day when we got to play with the cars, legos, and built a tower with cups. I loved the school because I learned stuff. I loved going to computers and keyboarding. I loved "free choice" time the best because we got to play with all of the toys. My best friends in my class were Zach, Ava, Landon, Easton, and Ryan."

Kindergarten Day at the Zoo

In Stratton's own words, about his day at the zoo... "I liked it so much, I loved riding on the school bus for the first time, and I liked all of the animals, my favorite were the monkeys, tigers, elephants and penguins!"

Kindergarten playground fun!!

Bed time in the Bunk house

Our family slept in the bunk house during our Memorial Day stay at the cabin. My kids love it in the bunk house, I think it's their favorite place to sleep, so cozy and warm! We missed Haden on this trip, he stayed back in Layton to fulfill a prior obligation.

Cabin

Memorial Day weekend we went with Jason and Aleese and girls to the cabin. We had a great time hiking, relaxing, and of course eating lots and lots of junk food... (I think this is my kids' favorite part about the cabin). It was a short stay, but well worth the trip!!

Fun with Uncle Brett

Uncle Brett is practically my kids' favorite person in the whole wide world. He always takes the time to play with them and just have fun... they think he is the greatest! We recently purchased a trampoline, after not having one for a couple years, the kids were so excited to try it out and who better to break it in with them, than Uncle Brett!

Memories

I love these pictures of Grandpa and Grandma Buswell's house. Their home brings back so many wonderful memories. I was able to help go through the house a few times, and although it was a very hard and emotional task, there were so many treasures and memories in that house, it was also a neat experience. Grandma held on to everything! She kept every single thing I had ever given her, whether it be a note, a gift, a birthday card, you name it we found it and I was only one of many grandchildren, children, cousins, neighbors, etc. All of these things obviously meant a great deal to her. We also found little notes on scrap pieces of paper that she would jot down a quote or a thought she liked and stash it in her drawer, priceless! I took a few pictures of the inside of her house...starting with the upper left hand corner, that was Grandpa and Grandma's bedroom, then their beautiful fireplace, then a picture of the swing set...where we played countless hours...our favorite thing to do was perform circus acts on it for Grandma who was always a very gracious audience, straight down is a picture of the shelf above her kitchen windows, and the bottom right corner is a picture of her utility room cupboards... Grandma had the best utility room fully equipped with plenty of cupboards for storage, counter top space, sewing machine, washer and dryer, sink, in-wall ironing board and toys for the children in the cupboard. It was a huge room with many uses and functions...awesome!! They have the most beautful home and property!

Saying Good-bye

Our dear friend Heidi Murdock is moving to Tremonton. She is going to be greatly missed! Kim Layton organized this surprise going away party for her at Cold Stone ice cream. It was tons of fun. I have so many good girl friends here in Layton. We wish Heidi the best on her new adventure.
