Preschool Graduation

Stratton attended Flint's Funschool this year for his final year of preschool. He loved to go each day. He had so much fun, especially with his buddies Cade and Parker. Now he's all ready for the fun summer ahead and Kindergarten in the fall!

Discovery Gateway

Memorial Day and Lola's birthday all wrapped up in one. The kids had so much fun exploring and playing together at the Discovery Gateway. I think they could have stayed there all day!

Pink Toes!

It is way too much fun to have a girl! Evie let me paint her toenails for the first time. She sat so still! She loved the finished product and couldn't wait to show them off to her dad and brothers. She is a little girly girl and I love it!

Layton Swarm

Haden had the opportunity to play in a special indoor football league this Spring. His football coach called and asked him to play on a team he was organizing of some Layton Allstars. It was a great experiance. The Swarm went 7-0 during the regular season and then 2-0 in the playoffs for a perfect championship season. They played other similar teams from along the Wasatch Front. Haden excelled at Defensive End, and Offensive Tackle. He even got a taste of Middle Linebacker and some Fullback. It was so much fun to watch him play. It was the highlight of the week. Go Swarm!!!!!

Piano Recital

Andrew's first year taking piano lessons has been a great success. It took a lot of convincing for Andrew to grab hold of the idea, but it has been a great experience for him. He has done really well and catches on so fast. I think he actually enjoys it, and for the most part he doesn't even mind practicing! He did a great job at his piano recital, he played 2 numbers; "Dusty's Trail Ride", and "Unchained Melodies".

First Lost Tooth

Stratton wasn't so sure about the whole idea of losing a tooth. He wanted to postpone it as long as possible. He actually seemed a little stressed about it even though I tried to ease his fears and tell him how cool it is, he wasn't buying it. It was loose for a long time, but Stratton refused to pull it. Well, we sat down for dinner and barely started to eat when out came his tooth. It must have been hanging on by a thread because it came out just by eating a spaghetti noodle. It was too funny though, because the tooth fell right into his spaghetti and blended right in with the noodles. So we looked and looked for it in his pile of noodles, and luckily we found it so he could put it under his pillow for the tooth fairy. I think Stratton was pleasantly surprised to find that it's not so bad to lose a tooth. He was so surprised that it didn't hurt and no blood was involved (apparently this is what he was fearing most). He got to put it under the pillow and in the morning he woke up to a one dollar bill...not bad! Now he wants to know when his next tooth is going to fall out!

Zoo

We spent the afternoon of May 18th at the Zoo. We went with Aleese, Afton, Lila, Becca, and Avery. It was a really hot day which was a little odd because it had been a cold Spring up to this point. It was around 90 degrees! Evie was really trying to take it all in. She was studying everything and didn't show much emotion until it was time to move on to the next attraction and then the crying started up because she didn't want to leave what she was currently looking at. Only to find that she really did like the next attraction but once again didn't want to move on. Her favorite part was seeing the monkeys, I figured this because she talked about them the rest of the day and she showed the most emotion when we looked at them. Stratton just wanted to see everything, he didn't want to miss out on anything. We got to ride the new merry-go-round and the train which was bitter sweet... sweet because the kids loved it, bitter because Evie did not want it to end and cried and cried after it was over. So a pretty average day at the zoo... uncomfortable heat, crying kids, loaded up with treats, exhausted by the end, and always end up going back (for the kids sake) right?
