YW General Training

The Stake YW Presidency invited us to go down to Salt Lake with them for the General YW auxiliary training. We arrived there plently early and were able to sit on the second row. It was a fantastic meeting and just the boost I needed! This is truly an exciting time to be serving in YW and I am grateful for the blessings in brings into my life. After the meeting we had the opportunity to meet Sister Dalton, the General YW President, and take our picture with her. It was a delightful day with all of these wonderful ladies. Our Stake leaders are the best and it has been so much fun getting to know them better!

A not so happy trip to the Dentist

We had known for about a month that Evie was going to have to get surgery on her teeth. This was a major shock to my system. All of my boys have had excellent teeth. And I don't feel like I've done anything different with Evie. However she had some decay on her top, front four teeth to the point that they needed crowns. I was totally devastated to say the least! They had to put her totally under and the surgery took about 1 1/2 hours. After surgery, it took her almost an hour to come out of the sedation. She was really sleepy and loopy the rest of the day. She basically slept all day. She couldn't walk straight and didn't feel like eating anything. She did finally come in the kitchen to get a drink of water. Right after she drank the water, she laid right down on the kitchen floor and fell back asleep immediately! Luckily, by the next day she was back to her usual self. Needless to say I am really strict now on what she eats and drinks and I floss her teeth everyday!

"For the Tooth Fairy"

Stratton came home from school so excited to show me that he had lost his first tooth on the top! He also couldn't wait to tell me that the school secretary "Barry" had pulled it for him. Apparently she is the tooth pulling expert at the school and will gladly pull the tooth of any child and place it in this nifty little envelope all ready to be placed under the pillow for the Tooth Fairy. On top of that, he also got to take a friend down to the office with him for moral support! Oh, the joys of kindergarten, love it!

Andrew's lucky day!

Andrew had a very "lucky" birthday this year! His 6th grade class was planning a "Read a Thon" on his birthday (and St. Patrick's Day) so Andrew already knew it was going to be a good day because reading is like his favorite thing to do! So right before school, I decided to give him his birthday gifts so he could have them for the read a thon. We gave him the last book in the Percy Jackson series and a gift certificate for the last book in the Fablehaven series. These are two book series he has loved and has been looking forward to reading the final books. Also, we ran to the gas station, I gave him some cash and he ran in to pick out a treat for the read a thon. He chose a rootbeer, of course. We made every "green" light to the gas station and every "green" light on the way back...Andrew pointed this out and said that it was another reason it was going to be his "lucky" day! After school we made shamrock sugar cookies, yum! And Troy took the boys to a movie, "Alice in Wonderland". They ate dinner at Arby's (Andrew's favorite). And we celebrated his birthday two more times with the Harris' and the Langstons the following week. Happy Birthday Andrew, we are so "lucky" to have you in our family!

More Birthday Fun!

We celebrated Evie's birthday again at Grandma Harris'. Later that week we celebrated with the Langstons. By the time all of the Birthday celebrations were done, I think we celebrated her birthday like 4 times! She may start to expect presents at the next family get together!

Evie's Birthday Wishes

I can't believe our little girl is 3 years old! Evie is such a joy! She is still "girly" as ever and wants to wear a dress or skirt everyday. She loves to sing and still goes with mommy to music class every week. She talks so well and loves to talk to me about princesses and horsies (her two latest obsessions). She loves being with her family and is so cuddly and sweet! She loves to eat chicken nuggets and mandarin oranges. She loves to read books, especially her new "Princess Potty" book... I was hoping that meant she was equally as excited to use the potty (no such luck)! She loves to go to Grandma's house and loves to play with her cousins. She likes nursery at church and loves to sing primary songs. She is a very special part of our family and we feel so blessed to have our sweet little girl. Happy Birthday Evie!

Evie turns 3

Evie had a special morning on her 3rd Birthday. First of all, our home teacher Bro. Coallier brought her over this cute teddy bear first thing in the morning! How sweet is that? Then daddy set up her new "big girl" bed! She loves her new bed and teddy bear, it was a great start to the day!
