High School Musical!

April 22, 23, 24 Haden was the lead in High School Musical playing the role of Troy Bolton. Also, McKenna Watts was Gabriella and Kaiden Kelly was Chad. They began practicing for this play back in October. They practiced almost every day after school. It was a lot of work but I think they also had A LOT of fun! It was fun for Haden to have his best friend Kaiden as his best friend in the musical too. Also, the two of them became best friends with McKenna through this experience and they all had so much fun together. The musical was fantastic, it was a blast to watch. They did an amazing job! I couldn't be more proud!!
The opening day of the musical was also a very emotional day. My Grandma Buswell had front row seats to see the muscial with us. However, she passed away earlier in the day, suddenly. I was able to get to the hospital a few minutes before she passed away, and am so grateful for friends and neighbors who took care of the concessions that I was in charge of for the play and took care of my kids so I could be with my Grandma during her final moments. I'm sure Grandma was still cheering him on from heaven!

9th Grade Office

Haden decided to run for 9th grade officer at Legacy Jr. High. His campaign was built around the "Old Spice" commercials. We put his head on the bodies of a couple of the Old Spice models. I think the posters turned out great and had some funny sayings playing off the words from the commercials. It turned out to be a crazy week! The weekend before the campaign week began, Haden got injured really bad in a football game with a concussion and a contusion. Campaign week was also the same week as the school musical of which Haden was the lead playing Troy Bolton in High School Musical. So with the injury I was really worried that how this week was going to go. On Sunday he was sleepy all day and couldn't walk with his leg injury. I was wondering how he was going to be able to walk let alone dance for the musical. He also had a skit to prepare on perform on Thursday morning and the first musical performance was Thursday night, not to mention all of the dress rehearsals earlier in the week. Troy gave him a blessing on Sunday night, and it was truly a miracle how fast he recovered. By Thursday he was limping just a little bit and was able to do all of the dance moves and did an awesome job in the musical and a great skit that morning! He found out Thursday at the end of school that he made it into 9th grade office! And the musical was a great success!!

My Dear Grandma Buz

April 18, 2010. This is the last time I saw my Grandma Buswell before she passed away, four days later on April 22, 2010. This is a day I will always treasure and am so grateful that I was able to spend this happy day with her. We went to her home to celebrate her 89th Birthday. You can see her laughing and enjoying the day with everyone. Grandma was a ray of sunshine and happiness. She had a special way of making everyone feel loved and important. She is the most optimistic person I have ever known. I feel incredibly lucky to have been blessed with a Grandma like her! Oh, I miss her so much!!! Love you Grandma!!

Joseph Smith Memorial

During the week of Spring Break the Watts and the Browns invited us to come with them to the Joseph Smith movie playing at the Joseph Smith Memorial Blg. My kids were all excited to go. It's fun because we have kids similar ages! We love these two families and were so happy to spend the afternoon with them! Tammy and I have been spending a lot of time together lately...she is the Stake YW President and our kids...Haden and McKenna are the leads in the school musical. We have been lucky to have known the Browns for a long time and they were even in our ward for a short time before it split. The movie was fantastic as always, we left full of the spirit! I can't think of a better way to spend time with friends!
