Girl's Camp

Girl's camp was a great success! We have the best YW in the Layton 2nd ward. They are all so special, unique, and happy young ladies. I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to work with them and share in this important time in their lives. I am also so grateful for all of the wondeful leaders I get to work with that give so much of their time and talents to serve the Young Women. It was so fun to have girl's camp at the Buswell family cabin. It was so nice and cozy. Girl's camp was the perfect blend of fun and spiritual. I couldn't ask for anything more!

Virtue Flag

What an amazing experience! All of the girl's held on to the Virtue flag together and held it up in the air. It was a very beautiful day with clear, blue skies and no wind. Just as we were about to take this picture, we mentioned how nice it would be if a little wind would pick up the flag so it could be seen. No sooner did we say that, a gust of wind came and picked up the flag just long enough to get the picture and then immediately went away. Heavenly Father heard us and gave us this tender mercy, it was so neat! I love this new added value to Personal Progress, it has brought a great Spirit to the meaning and purpose of the YW program. How I love this work!

Virtue Hike

One of the main highlights of Girl's camp was the "Virtue" hike to Ruth Lake. It is the most beautiful hike. We hiked up to the lake and ate our lunch near these rock formations in the picture above. Then we hiked over to another huge rock formation where we unfurled our Virtue banner as a symbol of our committment to Virtue. Our goal as a YW group this year is to read the entire Book of Mormon and finish the value of Virtue together.

Swimming on July 4th

As you can tell by the look on her face, Evie was loving every minute of the wave pool on July 4th!

July 4th

July 4th this year began with a 5k. Troy, Anne, Becca and myself ran the race on a route beginning and ending at Layton park. Immediately after the race we went home to gather the kids for the parade. Haden was in the parade this year as a Student body officer for Legacy Jr. High. Later that day the Andersons joined us for swimming at Layton Surf n Swim, and BBQ and fireworks that evening with all the Harris' and Langstons!
