Saturday is a Special Day for Dress up

Apparently who can say no to this face? Evie decided she wanted to wear this Cheer dress-up on the Saturday that I was in San Francisco. According to Troy she would not take it off for anybody or anything when he wanted to take her to the park on this cold Spring day. So Troy gave up on that idea and took her to the park anyway in this flimsy little Cheer dress thinking she would surely want a least a jacket on when she felt the cool breeze, but that never happened and she played at the park in this dress, in the cold, for 2 hours! Then later when it was time to go to Haden's football game, once again, she was dead set on wearing the dress, so once again, Troy took her out to the game in this. Needless to say, he said he got a few surprised looks, probably because the temperatures do not seem conducive to this kind of attire, but why should we care about that??? As long as Evie is happy, I guess then we're all happy, except for Grandma who tried to cover her up all night with the blanket, afraid she would catch cold!

San Francisco...here we come!

So much fun!!! We left our husbands and kids behind and went on a "girl's only" trip to San Francisco! It was a surprise birthday present for our friend Shannon, thanks to her husband Trent, who orchestrated the whole thing! We had to keep the trip secret from Shannon for over 2 months. She didn't know where she was going or who she was going with until we showed up at her door at 6:30 a.m. Friday morning! Kim, Shannon and I flew in first thing Friday morning. We spent the afternoon shopping, eating, and getting pedicures and manicures (every girl's dream). Amy, Jenny, and Jamie met up with us a little later that afternoon! We went see "Wicked" that night in downtown San Francisco... it was amazing!!! We finished the trip out the next day with lots of shopping, eating, talking, and laughing, staying up way too late, and having so much fun! The time just went by too fast, I have the best girl friends! Thanks for the fun weekend!

Layton Swarm Football Season

Haden is never too big and tough to be soft and sweet with his little sister.

This has been such a fun season! It's the first time Haden has played indoor football. He is playing with many of the guys that were on his outdoor football team and his head coach was the defensive coach on the outdoor team also. In a nutshell, Haden's team ROCKS! They have totally dominated all of their opponents and have been unstoppable. Haden has really been tearing it up on defense... he is such a great player and so much fun to watch. He has such great coaches and teammates, it has been a tremendous experience!

Sleep? What's that?

Tyler and Stratton always have so much fun together and they go and go until they just can't go anymore. They had a sleep over at Tyler's house, a fun day at the park and then went to Andrew's birthday party, followed by a trip in the car to Haden's football game where they finally gave in!

Andrew's 11th Birthday Party

Andrew celebrated his 11th birthday at My Gym with family and friends. It was such a fun party! Tons of time for free play, fun games, relays, and zip line. Not to mention cake and presents. It was great... as Andrew's smile tells it all!

Arrow of Light

After 3 years of attending and participating in Cub Scouts, Andrew is ready to enter the 11 year old scouts. In his final Pack Meeting Andrew received his Arrow of Light! His leaders did a cool face painting ceremony and gave him a special arrow symbolizing his cub scout journey. He was so excited to receive this award, he has worked hard and we are so proud of him!

5th grade Opera

Andrew was able to participate with his class in the 5th grade Opera. This is a project they have been working on all year. Each class wrote their own opera story line, music, lyrics, decorated and painted their own sets and came up with thier own costumes. Andrew was Dracula (one of the villians) in their opera titled "See you in the books". He did a great job and looked like he really enjoyed performing!
